We use a support method that allows us to replace the garage floor without the expense of removing the old slab. We install sturdy wooden legs through the 2×4 plate and secure them with nuts and washers to properly support the structure while the work is completed.

This method allows the concrete to flow all the way out to the forms, creating a clean, smooth finish. It also saves the homeowner the additional cost of demolishing and hauling away the old concrete. Because the new concrete surface is poured at least 6 inches above grade, water will no longer collect on the garage floor, helping keep the space dry and protected.
